LINDT to launch new festive gifting ranges at TFWA exhibition and conference in Singapore

LINDT & Sprüngli cites Asia as a very important market for growth with the launch of two new festive gifting ranges in the travel retail channel at the Tax Free World Association (TFWA) Asia Pacific Exhibition & Conference 2017.

LINDT is thrilled to once again be at the TFWA Asia Pacific Exhibition & Conference in Singapore as currently Asian customers like to buy LINDT products all over the world. However, increased travel restrictions in the region (luggage restrictions, arrivals focus, legal regulations etc) mean that regional confectionery consumption is expected to rise and purchases abroad become more limited.

Peter Zehnder, head of the Lindt & Sprüngli global duty free division said: “Despite the tough market environment in Asia, there is a huge opportunity for LINDT, particularly in the gifting sector. We have continued to steadily increase our market share in Asia over the past three years, and look forward to building on this progress. According to TRAQ, LINDT is one of the fastest growing brands, driving the premium category and continuously increasing space and visibility in Asia, but there is still huge capacity for further growth.”

This year the focus is on the festive gifting market as LINDT launches two new ranges to commemorate the diversity of global festive celebrations. “Festive seasons are a special time and are often spent with close family and friends,” continues Zehnder. “This means passengers will be looking for gifts fitting for those occasions. And LINDT is the gifting option in travel retail, providing a huge assortment of different travel retail exclusive gifting options.” LINDT research has shown that gifting is the most important purchase motivator for Asians, and that they are the traveller group who gift most, which, as Zehnder explains, was the motivation for 2017’s emphasis on providing LINDT’s Asian customers with seasonal gifting selections.

LINDT is building on the success of the LINDOR and the Swiss Masterpieces range with the launch of the striking and sumptuous Golden Glamour Collection. Gold is the colour of festivity and luxury and according to LINDT, the perfect colour to celebrate festive occasions. The range is comprised of the LINDOR Golden Glamour Tube 400g, consisting of five flavours including the additional festive flavour LINDOR Caramel, and the Swiss Masterpieces Golden Glamour 266g box. Both variants are travel retail exclusive and feature flavours not available in the permanent LINDT duty free assortment. All products will be available from August 2017.

LINDT will also unveil its Chinese New Year Edition collection in celebration of one of the most important events in the Asian festive calendar. The range consists of bestselling LINDOR tube 400g, Assorted Napolitains 500g and the charming LINDT Minipralines 150g, in a decorative Chinese New Year design.
