Lindt brings giant Easter surprise and spring magic to Zürich Airport

Easter is nearly upon us and this important season in the confectionary industry will see a magical Easter spectacle from LINDT & SPRÜNGLI Travel Retail at Zürich Airport. The Easter promotion, in partnership with LINDT’s long-standing partner Dufry, has bought the charm of Easter to the airport in the form of a grand scale version of the iconic LINDT Gold Bunny.

The LINDT Easter installation is an annual highlight at Zürich Airport, creating POS activation and every year it incorporates new interactive features to engage consumers. This year the exhibit will include a selfie-station, which will allow customers to photograph themselves with the impressive giant LINDT Gold Bunny, live product sampling and live Easter chocolate making of various products by LINDT Master Chocolatiers.

The giant LINDT Gold Bunny will also be surrounded by the LINDT Easter and spring collection, with gifts in a range of sizes to suit every budget. This will include the newly launched Limited Flower Edition of the LINDT Gold Bunny and the Flower Connaisseurs Pralines. Customers spending over CHF40 will also receive a fun pair of bunny ears.

Peter Zehnder, head of the LINDT global duty free division said: “The rise of digital means, when consumers decide to shop in travel retail, they are looking for a personal experience that can’t be found online. The interplay in the store between product, staff and brand is essential, as it allows the building of relationships, loyalty and personalization in the shopping experience. The LINDT Easter installation at Zürich Airport is an excellent example of providing for real passenger interaction and engagement.”

Phillipe Moryl, Global Category Management Head - Confectionery, Food, Souvenirs & Toys at Dufry, added; “Once again, Lindt has proven to be a partner of choice delivering a unique retail execution at Zürich Airport. At Dufry, we believe it is important to go beyond price promotion activities that one can see in most domestic markets or online. We strive to bring excitement, engagement and surprise to our passengers when defining and executing our promotion activities. In that respect, the Lindt team has done a great job for an important event such as Easter, in Switzerland the country of Chocolate and especially at Zurich, home of Lindt. We are looking forward to seeing their proposal for 2019!”

With its headquarters in Zürich, the city’s airport holds a special place in the heart of the brand. LINDT is the market leader and an advocate of products with a ‘sense of place’ at Zürich Airport. LINDT is part of a long-standing trinity partnership with Dufry and Zürich Airport, and operates the LINDT Chocolate Boutique on Level 2 and Lindt Chocolate Island on Level 1 of the airport. Here, the LINDT Master Chocolatiers produce handmade chocolates, which are freshly made every day and consumers can treat their loved ones with an individually tailored chocolate gift.
