Dublin Airport introduces integrated promotional platform with iCoupon

Dublin Airport has partnered with leading intelligent vouchering platform, iCoupon, to further enhance the passenger journey through its innovative promotions product. The use of a singular platform throughout Dublin Airport will allow for a first-of-its-kind unified ecosystem, fostering unprecedented connectivity and collaboration between airlines, retailers and the airport.

The airport is taking full advantage of the technology offered by iCoupon’s intelligent solution, along with its extensive network, by using it to implement a series of promotions designed to incentivise airport travellers. This innovative approach not only boosts ancillary income for the airlines but also helps to establish mutually beneficial relationships across the airport space.

The inaugural campaign in December offered a free coffee to customers to celebrate the holiday period. Travellers at the airport were sent a text message inviting them to share their details to receive a QR code, which could be redeemed for a complimentary drink at selected airport retailers. The campaign was a notable success, with 2,000 vouchers issued and 342 redeemed between December 18th and January 4th, which represented an impressive 20% redemption rate.

Richard Bye, CEO of iCoupon, said: “Dublin Airport has been a valued partner of iCoupon for many years, and all F&B retailers operating at the airport are already a part of our network. Recent advances in our intelligent vouchering platform allow airports to really make use of the network, enabling them to create, distribute, validate, and redeem vouchers for their passengers that can be specific to each individual airport store. This means that the retailers are also able to effectively manage the financial performance of individual stores, while also offering maximum flexibility to the airport and allowing it to offer promotions to every type of passenger.”

Mairead McNally, Digital Marketing Manager, at Dublin Airport, said: “I’m delighted to share in the success of our recent innovative campaign in collaboration with iCoupon. Introducing 5 euro vouchers to airport visitors for selected retailers marked the first campaign of its kind at Dublin Airport. The campaign has been a great success, and I must commend the iCoupon team for their responsiveness and assistance throughout the setup. This success fuels our enthusiasm to explore further similar ventures in the future.”
