SSP expands partnership with DB InfraGO AG to run convenience stores at 40 German railway stations

SSP will deepen its long-standing partnership with DB InfraGO AG, as it is set to operate 40 Point branded outlets at railway stations across Germany. The roll out of the SSP-developed brand marks a major strategic milestone for both partners and reinforces SSP’s leadership in high-traffic travel retail environments in Germany.

SSP’s own-brand Point is tailored to travel locations, retailing a curated assortment of items including groceries, magazines and travel accessories. The concept was developed by SSP with the aim to bring an enhanced F&B offer and speedy service to the convenience sector. The new stores to open in Germany add to the portfolio of existing Point units that SSP operates globally.

The agreement will see existing ServiceStore DB locations converted into Point outlets by the end of the year. The roll out will include high profile units in key locations such as Berlin Central, Hamburg, Frankfurt (Main) and Stuttgart stations, as well as regional hubs including Zwickau, Stralsund and Eisenach, ensuring a strong presence for the brand across the country.

With an emphasis on quality fresh food and travel essentials, integrated technology and operational excellence, these new stores will set a high benchmark in the development of station infrastructure. Point combines international best practice with local market insights signalling a new era for customer-centric convenience.

Depending on location and store size, the new stores will feature self-checkout systems, digital menu boards and intuitive layouts designed to streamline the customer journey. These future-ready technologies reflect the growing demand for speed, ease, and reliability in travel convenience.

Oliver Haub, Managing Director SSP Germany, commented; “With Point, we have created a format that is perfectly in tune with the evolving demands of the travelling consumer, and the transformation of ServiceStore DB locations into our internationally popular brand is a significant step in the development of our brand portfolio. We’d like thank DB InfraGO AG for their trust in our team and look forward to working together with them on this flagship project.”
